yes, I'm late posting and yes, I know, seems like a stupid question. Yet on MonsterQuest I learned there are actually research grants to study big foot or hairy man, or Yeti... whatever name you give the Sasquasch. I'd no idea there were sightings and proof (huge prints) in south East Asia, China, Russia and Indonesia. Most experts say its a gorilla, an ape, one suggested it was a silver back gorilla, a rare breed. Bah.
A big game vet, someone who'd recognize tracks, had an encounter. The 'big foot' whooped. He whooped back and it never responded. He got the hell out of there because he could hear thrashing getting closer. But he insisted there is no such animal in the area that makes that sound. (70 miles north of Seattle) and he should know. Yurok tribesmen don't go into a section of that Seattle area because the 'wild people live there. We leave them alone.'
Now what I found fascinating was that researchers now have Night Vision, FLIR (infrared) and high powered sound equipment. Oddly similar equipement is used in ghost busting. They don't have anything to report. Really? With a $100K research grant?
The average response to Big Foot sightings is "how could it hide for so long without clear evidence?" There IS evidence, foot prints, hair, a destroyed cabin (though that was in 1939 witness account) and film. Bad film. Why is that always the case?
Am I ready to believe it? Sorta. Wild theories aside, you can't discount the evidence. But every inch of this entire planet has not been explored. Why is it so hard to believe something could still exist without touching mankind?
The Amish are still going strong so I say, its possible. What it is, I dunno.
So... got a theory, opinion? Do I believe in Big Foot?
