My only excuse is I was writing away from the net and it completely slipped my overtaxed mind!

What's scarier than coming off deadline? A writer's desk. Ready?
I am at my desktop computer. I have an L shaped desk. To my left is the printer. To my right, my laptop. Post its are all over the hard drive and edge of the computer screen. Reminders to post at Babes, and to write an article for the Medieval Chronicle.
Other cryptic post its are “Birthday, page 57” and “Warning from mother, before 325” – most important “Who has the effing gun?”
I have a stack of cds. Nickelback, Wombats, and lots of mixed discs. I have a Japanese waving good luck cat, jury summons, and a gavel leftover from when I was Florida Romance Writers president.
Looking up at the wall, I see a life size skull candle on my shelf, the skull wears a pink tiara that my critique group gave me with my first sale. I have a birdhouse with my book cover designed by Rhonda – a mini globe and a card with cat people on the front.
On top of my hard drive is a statue of an Egyptian cat goddess. A knight, and his lady, and a giant purple diamond paper weight to remind me of my goals. There is a good luck rose quartz, and a dollar that my daughter gave me before I was published so that I would be a ‘paid’ writer. I have a goddess rock and my back up external hardrive.
To my right, past the laptop, I have three calendars. Two are for goal setting and daily writing. One is for what doesn’t fit on the other two.
I have a bag of promo pencils I’ve been meaning to pre sharpen, cause really, who wants a pencil that doesn’t write? I have a roll of paper towels, an Iced Venti Shaken Black Tea Lemonade, and a jar of plain almonds. I have business cards, a wedding invitation, and about ten sharpies in various stages of lost ink. I have a check that I haven’t cashed so that I won’t spend it, I have the spark notes for A Midsummer Night’s Dream, I have bookmarks, and book flats, and a binder for my cat shifter work in progress, a binder and a cool print out for my post apocalypse W I P, a binder for Eleanor’s Whores, and that proposal – three books on Eleanor, for an article I need to submit, a dishtowel, a promo pen, four hundred pages of D D Valentine, a Young Adult book I am rewriting, and a zombie survival guide. I have two books on ancient Egypt, and hieroglyphics. At my feet I have my dog, a plastic bin with books in manuscript form that have sold, and more promo items.
Because my work area is a corner of my bedroom, it is very confined – I like to call it cozy <g>
Soooo, that’s a glimpse into the madness – BOO!!!!
